This series comprises twelve shots taken in a single session in the countryside around my hometown. I stumbled upon these large piles of mixed leaves and branches which had probably been pruned recently, and besides finding them extremely fascinating to the eye with their colours and shapes, I also thought that they were a pretty evocative example of the concept of "cycle", symbolizing the passing of time and the neverending cycle of decay and growth, recurrence and obsolescence, and ultimately life and death themselves. i chose to reinforce this association by limiting the series only twelve of shots, as in both hours and months.
